Introduction:
   Established in Oct 2006, Xiangtan City Qingyuan Peizhi School is the first and biggest specialized intervention and rehabilitation training institution for children with autism or relative developmental disorder in Hunan province. The school is a non profit institution enrolled in Yuetang District Education Bureau of Xiangtan city; it is also a rehabilitation training base which is subordinate to the Municipal Federation of the Disabled in Xiangtan. The school provides specialized training and guidance for the children with autism or relative developmental disorder and their family. The school mainly adopts training and therapy mode by combination of structural teaching, ABA applied behavior analysis therapy, RDI education method, sensory integration training and Orff’s music. At same time, the school evaluates the children, makes personalized training plan and training targets and performs high intensity education and training. After 5 -year development, our school has established management, training and teaching modes with its own characteristics and successfully trained about more than a thousand children with autism or other developmental disorder, and now is becoming the specialized and advanced children rehabilitation training institution in our country. The school was evaluated as “Outstanding School in Xiangtan City” and “Social Contribution Award” by Xiangtan City Education Bureau and Xiangtan Municipal Federation of the Disabled in 2008, 2009 and 2010.
Institution Location, Size and Facilities:
Located in the center of Xiangtan City (No 7 Jianshe Zhong Lu, Xiangtan City), the school possess fresh air, bright and comfortable teaching sites which are rational distributed. The teaching facilities includes personalized training room, music room, game hall, meeting room , resting room for children and parents and dining hall. The school can be used to conduct intervention training for more than 100 children at same time. There are 18 professional training teachers in the school, 16 of them posses junior college or undergraduate diploma, 10 of them graduated from exceptional education, psychology or preschool education specialty。
 Teaching Characteristics: Combining collective teaching with personal training, parents education with teacher operation, and School education with family guidance.
Teaching Content: Our courses includes personalized training, personal work、sensory integration、gross motor、fine movements, combining with scene teaching, computer course, games, art and labor, group class , large class and Orff’s music etc. The regular skills for the preschool development is emphasized in our school , so as to develop children’s self care ability and improve the imitation, perception, small muscle, cognitive comprehension, expression ability、and social communication ability of children in full scale.
Teaching Forms:
Parent-children class. (Personalized training and sensory integration class will be carried out by teacher in the mode of one-to-one education,parental accompany is required in other classes)
2. Day care:(The classes will be carried by professional teacher in the mode of one-to-one education, parental accompany is not required, pick up is need)
3, Half day :(Half day training in our school, half day in regular kindergarten)
4 Out school training:(For the children with autism who is learning in regular kindergarten or elementary school, only on Saturdays)
 Teaching Arrangement: The first week will be observation and evaluation periods,the teacher in charge will write observation record and evaluate the student after a week and make personalized training plan for the next week. The teacher will exchange the observation and evaluation results with parents. In the second week, teacher carries out the teaching plan and modifies the plan each week and exchange with parents. There is a parent training and exchange meeting for each month. The sensory integration training room will be free admission at Saturday and Sunday.
 
Enrollment targets:
    3 to 12-year-old children with autism, mental retardation, learning difficulties, language problem and behavior problem
   Our school will put children’ s education on the first place, make use of scientific training methods, let children obtain full-scale and scientific rehabilitation training,develop their potential, help them live a self-support life and acclimatize to the society as soon as possible. We will also help the parents to know children’ s psychological knowledge and master correct training methods, so as to better guide children to grow up and develop in a healthy way.
