Sharing Expertise with Experts from Israel  

Tsofiya Smooha, clinical and developmental psychologist from Israel, Rachel Shoham, researcher and practitioner in special education from Israel, and Yang Xijie, from China National Institute for Educational Research visit “Stars and Rain”.  Mrs. Smooha Tsofiya gave the following lecture: “Parents to children with Autism: Project or a way of life?” The lecture contents the following guidelines:

1.       Parents are partners.

2.       A child with autism speaks a unique language.

3.       There is a need to relate to the child emotional life and to his parents emotional life.

4.       Use opportunities of natural environment to enhance learning.

5.       Parents to a child with autism should never stay alone.
